Shannon: City Hotels and Accommodation
Shannon is a fairly modern town and was built alongside Shannon International Airport (SNN) to support this busy gateway. Many new houses and residential areas fill much of the town, together with a number of popular hotels. Accommodation in Shannon is just a short distance from the airport itself, whilst being close to the Skycourt shopping centre, a selection of eateries and a train station.
Further hotels can be found close to Shannon, in the city of Limerick, which is located around 24 km / 15 miles from Shannon Airport. Also nearby, basic accommodation and guest houses are sited in the town of Ennis - dominated by the Cathedral of St. Peter, and the charming village of Newmarket-on-Fergus - famous for being home to the historic Bunratty Castle.
